More Black belt success!!
A big well done to all who graded recently, especially to junior student Alex Barnes who gained his black belt 1st Dan, alongside senior student Helen Walsh who also gained her 1st Dan. Long may the success continue!
So apologies if it seems to be taking forever but we are doing all we can to get things moving as they should. We will keep everyone updated as and when we can!!
Providing we are in our new premises, the new Tuesday night training session will begin 6th January. Times will be:
Junior beginners 6pm-7pm
Junior advanced 7pm-8pm
We are also introducing a toddler session for 3-6 year olds. The class will be on Wednesday nights from 4pm-5pm. If you have young ones who want to have a go put their name down on the waiting list soon as possible because initially places will be limited to relatively small groups.
The new website is up and running so give it a look!!! We will be putting up student profiles for ALL our students so if you want to be featured please hand in a brief paragraph to include name, age, grade, and years of training with Kenshinkan, what you like about training at the club, etc.
2010/11 Grading dates
Please note: ALL grading’s will be held on Sunday’s once we have moved over to the new centre.
If for any reason you cannot attend on a particular grading date you will have to wait until the next one. We grade every two months so the next one is never far away. Frustrating as it may be if you have to miss it but it is virtually impossible to find a date that everybody is available for at the same time, apologies.

What are we up to?
Our club has been approached by Prince Henrys, Otley to teach martial arts as part of their year 10 & 11 P.E. curriculum. This is the second time we have been in the school and we hope to move in to other local schools in the future. We had excellent feedback from the school last term and I’m sure we will get it again this time.
If you want to help out at any sessions please ask for details. You have to be brown belt or above and preferably be CRB checked, (their rules not ours), also if you know of any school who may be interested in having our club teach their pupils then please forward contact details to us.
The last training day before Christmas will be Sat 18th Dec and we will re-open on Sat 8th January.
As every year Santa and his little helper will be making an appearanceJ and as usual we will be having a fun and games on the last day so be sure to be there. You can also come dressed up as your favourite Christmas character, a prize will be given for the best fancy dress J
There are a few mobile numbers for parents of children we do not have. If you could check with us to see if we have your latest number it would be appreciated.
Welcome to all the newcomers, all of us here at Kenshinkan hope you enjoy training with us. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask any of our members or Clare and Mike.
